Hi Sound Compact – l’audio perfetto per i tuoi video

Faire: Rome

Maker: Dodotronic di Ivano Pelicella

There are a lot of wildlife photographers and videographers, all of whom had extremely costly equipment and lenses, but none of them could match a suitable microphone. Shotgun microphones are designed to be extremely directional in order to block out sound coming from the sides; however, they do not perform as well as parabolic microphones in terms of amplification and background noise. Each naturalist recorder carries their own recorder and a parabola in opposite hands. There will be too much equipment to carry while making a movie, and managing a big parabola is typically difficult. The goal was to design something that would free up your hands so that you could concentrate and begin your film. Hi-Sound Compact aims to record the inaudible sounds of animals in stunning quality and with little noise.

Embodied AI Agent with a real robotic platform

Faire: Rome

Maker: Machine Learning Reply

The talk will focus on a real implementation of Embodied AI agent. We will start with an overview of the Machine Learning models covered within Reply R&D, therefore DinoV2 for Object Detection (https://dinov2.metademolab.com/), PALM (https://palm-e.github.io/ ) as a starting point for VLMs (Visual Language Models) and be able to generalize a large number of tasks that require multimodal input (both with images and text). We will then move on to a focus on a robotic agent such as SPOT by Boston Dynamics, therefore its architecture, the potential of this agent and the sensors present in stock. From here we will have the basis to move on to an implementation of Embodied AI Agents controlled completely with voice in natural language. We will show an orchestrator who, by receiving voice commands in natural language as input, will be able to control a robotic agent such as SPOT by Boston Dynamics and use the Machine Learning models necessary to complete the individual tasks within the episode initiated by the user. We will then show current developments in the way related to the use of Visual Language Models, such as RT-2(https://robotics-transformer2.github.io/) for robotic agents and LINGO-1(https://wayve.ai/ ) for autonomous driving.

Sport-graf

Faire: Rome

Maker: IIS Edoardo Amaldi Roma

Sport-graf is a device capable of detecting the electrical activity of the muscle through the application of three electrodes on the skin, treated with the Arduino UNO board and a wave amplifier. The device consists of a breadboard housing the components of the power supply and amplification circuits. The amplifier is powered, through a dual generator, by a lithium ion battery. The chip amplifies the signal (INA128P) coming from the three electrodes and supplies an analog output read by the analog port of the Arduino, which, thanks to the serial plotter, shows a graph with the trend of the contraction and distension activity of the muscle fibres.

IL FENOMENO DEL PADEL

Faire: Rome

Maker: FORGIAFER SRL - ITALIAN PADEL

Forgiafer produces what can be defined as the best padel courts on the market and offers 10 years of warranty: since the beginning of the activity in 2016, it has installed more than 2500 courts in over 20 countries. The goal for the next two years is to distribute 65% of the achievements on the foreign market, while already in 2022 the company will reach an annual production capacity of 1500 courts. From 2018 the products are CE certified according to EN 1090-1, recalled by NCT 2018 and Legislative Decree 106/2017 in compliance with EU Regulation No. 305/2011. The CE marking, which is mandatory in Europe, represents a focus on safety and provides a number of additional benefits for customers. With the adaptation of the structures to the NCT 2018, the Padel courts installed in Italy must ensure resistance to wind thrust over 100 km/h. The glasses of the court are tempered 12mm or laminated and have a thickness of 6 + 6 mm with plastic interlayer, which implies greater resistance, greater rebound and greater safety during play. The structure, finally, made with increased thicknesses, is completely galvanized, the welds are anti-corrosion and the painting is carried out in powder, improving the abrasion resistance and the durability of the product over time.

E-Horizon Project

Faire: Rome

Maker: Ass.ne Italiana Makers Automotive

E-Horizon Project is a project that encourages young people to be creative and take control of their future. Starting from a "Crazy Idea", the project has created a community of young motor enthusiasts with a common dream: to become part of the world of world motorsports. Through the new technologies of industry 4.0, all high school students, willing to test themselves and learn, can express their creativity and their technical knowledge, creating models of racing cars in 1:10 scale through the use of CAD software, 3D printing, microcontroller programming. Eventually they can compete with other makers, competing with the cars they create. The project includes different categories of cars to be built: - MKRS: Formula 1-style cars, electrically powered, designed and driven by school kids - Hypercar: project similar to MKRS but with cars with covered wheels - Driverless: self-driving Hypercar-style cars. At Maker Faire Rome we will bring the 2023 prototypes of the various projects plus other models we have previously made and we will hold small shows to show the capabilities of our cars and the potential of our project.

Immersive Cube Experience

Faire: Rome

Maker: EY

The "Immersive Cube" is a three-dimensional environment that offers an immersive experience by projecting content, images and videos onto all the inner surfaces of the cube. In addition, it will be possible to further immerse oneself in virtual reality by using VR and AR headset, allowing the user to interact with objects and digital spaces. In detail, the experience will be divided into three different use cases: - TEA Research lab, which will allow the user to learn about genome editing projects for stronger, climate-resilient plants - Malteria Brewery Virtual Tour, where the user will be able to explore the secrets of the malt house, interact with themed objects and discover the traceability function of the beer in bottle - Sensorial Tour; here, users will be able to test themselves, trying to associate the right type of oil with the aroma perceived inside the Cube. What the three experiences have in common is a new way of conveying information and learning notions that are often complex (such as neuroscience or genome editing) or difficult to physically reach (such as visiting a malt house). This allows the public to learn more about the products they are going to buy, and be more aware of new scientific discoveries useful in underlining concepts such as made in Italy, food sovereignty and sustainability.

For this reason, we do not consider it relevant to communicate to you the identity of our team, but rather to show you the result of our work. We thank you for your understanding. Scaling Up To assess the market potential of our solution, we used the model that allows us to estimate the total demand, the reachable segment and the obtainable share for our product or service. In addition, we analyzed the following variables that influence our ability to penetrate the market and generate value: • Market need: the degree of need or desire that customers have for our solution and its differentiation from existing alternatives we have discovered that there is no company on the market that could be evaluated today as a true competitor. • Product-market fit: the level of adherence between the features and benefits of our solution and the needs and expectations of customers. • N° of active POCs: the number of proof of concept (Prof of Concept) that we have started with potential customers to demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of our solution was quite reduced as the product is easily adaptable to any type of product. • N° of converted POCs: the number of proof of concept that have turned into contracts or actual orders from customers exceeds 90% of the value of proposals. • N° of active customers: we decided to give the opportunity to a small number of customers who were allowed to use our solution regularly and are satisfied with it, especially because we selected some particular products brought to market by small emerging companies as seen from presentation we sent. • N° of potential active customers: The number of potential customers who have expressed interest in our solution and are in contact with our sales group are unquantifiable since the product is an integral part of Bado’s Voucher 4.0
