A costume with integrated LEDs that light up and change color based on its position: this is the core of a project designed specifically to provide performers with an innovative tool.
The costume detects the position, and every movement gently modifies the shades, colors, and light intensity. This dynamic response is governed by specific programmable rules.
The scenic effect is extraordinary, both during rapid movements and slow movements, eliciting wonder from the audience about the connection between movement and the device's response
Ternary Computer System

We design a new type of microprocessor, which works with ternary logic (instead of the usual binary).
The immediate benefits of the ternary are:
Compact information much better (than binary system);
It reduces the size of the chips (especially the memory, which today occupies most of the surface).
Our idea offers technological advantages that enable a great leap forward in traditional processing and supercomputing.
It is optimally applied to the emerging fields of artificial intelligence and the brain-machine connection. Some neurobiological research groups are implementing neural networks with modeling of neurons using three states, because this better matches the activity of neurons.
We design, write specifications (ISA) and implement ternary microprocessors.

IL BR is a simple wearable device that allows you to control your PC and beyond by simply moving a hand. The device recognizes the acceleration produced by movement and compares it with user-selected and fully customizable "trigger" values, so as to simulate pressing a key on the keyboard, to control various aspects of your PC, to scroll through a presentation smoothly and much more. Thanks to the Internet connection, the BR can connect to very distant devices (such as drones, radio-controlled cars and much more) and control them remotely thanks to the acceleration produced by the user. The presence of a rechargeable battery allows uninterrupted use for over 4 hours. The case like the strap are totally 3D printed so as to be light and suitable for any user. The BR is supported by a PC interface that allows you to fully customize any aspect of the device. Like “trigger” accelerations, simulated keystrokes and much more. Furthermore, once the interface is closed after connecting the device, the BR will continue to work in the background allowing for simple and fluid use.

GALDEANO, DIY Calculator with simbolic math

The heart of the machine is an esp32 with 4 Mb of SPI RAM. The PCB is a custom one, as it is the keyboard. The display (320x240) is an ili9341 with a touch sensor (resistance). It runs a custom micropython distribution with LVGL graphics with the math engine (Eigenmath) as a module. The program runs in the data partitions and it is easily customizable and extensible.
Cyber Escape Room – attacco alla Nerd Corporation

Thirty minutes to infiltrate the computer system of the Nerd Corporation to prevent the evil organization from launching a cyber attack.
This is the challenge to be solved in the escape room created by the Cybersecurity National Lab of the CINI (National Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics) and the IMT School of Advanced Studies Lucca.
The objective is to raise awareness of cybersecurity and the relationship between privacy, digital and exposure to risk.
A team of volunteer hackers will be trained and sent on a mission to break into the Nerd Corporation's lair and to steal its secret plans.
It is played in teams made up of a maximum of 4 people, divided between a team on the field and a team at the terminal. The field team recovers clues and moves through the escape room while the terminal team uses computer tools to solve the challenges.
The challenge lasts 30 minutes and the complete experience takes about 45.
Light Wheel by Oz Officine Zero

We have created Light Wheel, an open-source board that repurposes components from discarded scooters, reducing environmental impact. Our project is a prototype application of Light Wheel on a manual wheelchair for individuals with disabilities, suitable for tight spaces like corridors and elevators. Motorization is achieved using a Light Wheel platform, 36V brushless motors, and repurposed scooter battery packs. The wheelchair, controlled by a joystick, offers optimal functionality and safety, including speed control, anti-tipping measures, audible and visual alerts, and provision for anti-collision sensors. This prototype focuses on autonomous mobility for people with disabilities, providing a low-cost and environmentally friendly solution. Light Wheel exhibits great versatility for various applications.
Bubo-2T

WHAT IS BUBO-2T
Bubo-2T is a robotic owl made in the Steampunk style.
INSPIRATION
Bubo was the name of the clockwork owl in the 1981 movie Clash of the Titans. It was animated by Ray Harryhousen.
I’ve taken inspiration from other movie characters such as the Nautilus from the movie 20,000 Leagues under the Sea.
I was also inspired by Tick Tock - the clockwork tin man from the movie Return to Oz.
My other inspirations are creators of companion robots, such as Alex Glow and her Archie robot, Jorvon Moss, and also creators of wearable tech, such as Naomi Wu and Sophy Wong.
Bubo-2T features advanced AI and machine learning and can detect hand gestures made in front of it.
FEATURES
2 large eyes that open and close using 2 servers, one per eye

Each eye contains an Neopixel ring that is animated via a Raspberry Pi Pico
The Pico is also connected via UART to a Raspberry Pi 4 2Gb
One of the eyes also contains a Raspberry Pi Camera 3 Wide module
The camera module enables the user to strike a pose, the hand gestures are detected and the camera will take a picture and tweet it to Twitter or Toot it to Mastodon (thats what the 2T or tooty means).

Wi-Fi Enabled Stratum-1 GNSS Time Server Built From Scratch

My hands-on approach to dissecting IoT from the inside led me to fulfill a long-time dream of having an on-site Stratum-1 Network Time Protocol (NTP) server. NTP is the decades-old synchronization protocol that keeps networked computer clocks accurate.
The best-case scenario for an NTP server is being fed from a Stratum-1 time source, that is, for instance, connected to the source of a VERY accurate time, usually an atomic clock (also called, Stratum-0).
A good amount of Stratum-0 time sources is constantly floating over our heads! The GPS satellites, each one carrying at least two cesium atomic clocks (accurate up to 1 second every 300 million years).
The idea of using GPS as a time source is not new, there are dozens of commercial products available doing precisely that. But my goal is to make it cheap, accurate, self-contained, dual-powered (mains and batteries), wireless-enabled, and portable to use on the field in my HAM Radio activities. Powered by the ever-expanding universe of microcontroller units, this goal is closer than ever.
Current functionalities:
- Internal RTC synched from GPS satellites constellation (backed by CR2032 battery)
- Dual voltage powered
- Backup battery for the whole unit (18650)
- NTP and RDATE (RFC868) protocols supported
- WiFi functionality as a client or access point
- Syslog logging
- Configuration webpage for WiFi and Syslog, saving to persistent storage (LittleFS)
- Informative display with a timestamp, satellites in view, accuracy, wifi server, IP address
- Dual function button, short press switch information on display, long press disables WiFi
- Status at a glance, with dedicated 5mm LEDs for GPS lock, PPS signal, and WiFi status, as well as visible internal LEDs for charging and GPS module statuses
